What I thought…

  1. This is my first time listening to the series on audiobooks.  And they are fantastic!  Jim Dale is an amazing narrator.  The British accent, the character voices, his speed of reading, it’s all good.
  2. Listening is like a trip down memory lane.  I loved these characters like they were my own family and JK Rowling makes me feel like I’m really there with them.
  3. It’s been awhile since I’ve read the earlier books and I forgot how awesome the secondary characters are.  Like Neville.  He was one of my favorite characters and his role in the movies was so small (till the last one) it was disappointing.
  4. This is the first time I’ve gone back to the beginning since reading book seven and it’s so fascinating to pick up on all the little clues that come to play in later books.
  5. The Weasley twins are so much fun!  I wish they had gone to my school.  It never would have been boring!
  6. I am really looking forward to listening to books 4 and 5 as they are my favorite in the series.

Overall the books are utterly fantastic and the audio books are too!

I’ve heard Jim Dale is amazing at reading these. I’m glad you’re enjoying them. It would be fun to go back and read them now that they’re all out and I could see all those little hints.

OMG! He is soooo amazing. I have a hard time with audiobooks giving me a headache and so far him and Tina Fey are the only two I’ve managed to make it all the way through.

And there are so many little things that I was like “hey I remember them using that/needing that/whatever in book 7” I dare say it’s almost better reading it as a complete series for the second time.

I loved reading through the whole series. It’s about time I do it again, I think. looooove these books and Jim Dale is the best. And I love Neville, too. I imported the first book to iTunes from a CD and so when I listen to my music on shuffle, I get random bits of book one, too. It’s kind of awesome. :)

Whoa Whoa girls, I totally have dibs on Neville!!! He has always been my favorite! I made a shirt that I wore to the midnight release of the Deathly Hollows that says TEAM NEVILLE on the front and I wear it all the time!

I’ve only read the books once but I have listened to the audios more times then I can count. I’ve was planning on actually rereading them this year but I just don’t know if I’ll have time….

I must be one of the few people who hasn’t yet read the Harry Potter books… I’m obviously missing out!

I hear the audios are fantastic! I’m not an audio person myself, but I hear lots of talk about them. I need to re-read this series one of these days…maybe I can read them when my kids get a little older.
