Read-a-Thon Update: Hours 9-14

April 21, 2012 Readathon 11

Some Miscellaneous Stuff that you need to know about my read-a-thon experience:
*Steph is way, way, way more afraid of bugs then I am.  And I am very afraid of bugs!

*Kate is cheating on her page counts by reading a manga and The Adventures of Hugo Cabret, while Steph and I have struggled through reading our first book (that does not have pictures).

*Having a group read-a-thon is not the best way to read your TBR books.  It is however a great way to have a lot of fun and some good laughs.

*I know that this is completely random for y’all but the dentist told me that I have a geographic tongue.  Basically my taste buds move around my tongue, and they can change daily.  That’s probably too much info, but do with it what you will.

Total Pages Read:
375 – but I feel much better now that I’ve actually finished the book

Hour 12 – 15 minutes

Hour 12 – 15 minutes/30 minutes of an “incident”

Cumulative Total: 390 minutes (6.5 hours)

Mini Challenges Completed:
Anti Hero challenge

Blogs I Visited (I’m not an official cheerleader, but I do plan on stopping by other blogs):
Sadly none, I’m not doing so well with this, but as I’ve upped my reading I’m giving myself a pass on this.

Thoughts on the books I’ve Read:
Pandemonium was really good.  And while I can’t say I was surprised about the ending, it wasn’t the ending I wanted.  But I am really looking forward to reading Requiem.

Good to see you’re still going strong! I may not make it (as I sit here with my eyes only 1/2 open), but have decided on ‘An Abundance of Katherines’ for my next read hoping the sharp wit of John Green will keep me awake. I can’t wait to read updates of your fun day!

Lol I love your miscellaneous info at the top! And hey, I read a manga! That’s not cheating because nowhere in the rules does it say that you can’t count manga towards your page counts! So there! ;)

And that geographic tongue thing… sounds strange. Are you sure you aren’t making it up? Just kidding. But it does sound really weird! ;)

I was just giving Kate a hard time about the Manga. She was all pleased about reading like 200 pages in 90 minutes and it took me like 10 hours to make it through Pandemonium!

The geographic tongue thing is weird, my dentist had like 4 other people in the office looking at it cause they hadn’t ever seen it, but it’s harmless.

Haha, I think I read much slower during organised events. I forgot I got Pandemonium out the library to read this weekend too…never mind! Keep up the good work!

Kimberly it sounds like you guys are having a blast although I am sure more talking is happening then reading LOL

That is too funny about Kate. Perhaps I should have sent her a bunch on comics and mangas to read LOL

A geographic tongue? How is that even possible? I’m horrified and impressed all at the same time!
