Sundays in Bed with… Wither

Happy Easter!

Kate at Midnight Book Girl has started a new feature on Sunday mornings to share with everyone what you’re reading in bed Sunday morning before getting to the days activities.

Lauren DeStefano WitherThis morning I’m reading Wither by Lauren DeStefano.

I’m positive I’ll finish the book today.  So far I am really enjoying it, but Wither is definitely different.  In a good way, I promise!  It has a little bit of a Flowers in the Attic feel to it (they aren’t allowed to leave, nothing in the house is as it seems), in fact, now that I think about it, both books have a controversial issue in it too.  That’s where any similarities end though because Wither is so completely different.

Andrea (The Overstuffed Bookcase) and Jessie (The Daily Bookmark) are hosting a Wither Read-Along event from March 18 to April 14.  It’s not too late to join in the fun!

What are you spending Sunday’s in bed with?

I just finished this on friday so I need to write up my review. I was not a fan, but sometimes I feel as if I missed something because so many people seem to like it!

I feel that way about books all the time! I feel like I missed something important. I’m not ready to come clean with the book title yet, but there is a particular classic book that I tell people I like (it’s much easier that way) even though I could barely finish it. I just don’t see what all the fuss is about.

It happens, some books are just not for everyone. It’s like ice cream. Most people like ice cream, and there are some flavors that most people can agree taste great, but while I might enjoy Mint Chocolate Chip, maybe it’s too minty for someone else or doesn’t have enough chips. See, I’m deep.

Happy Easter! Now, I totally want some ice cream! I read this last week. I enjoyed it, but I didn’t both at the same time. I had a complicated relationship with the book. :)

I can see having a complicated relationship with this book because it has so many things going on. There were some things I didn’t care for, but some of them were overshawdowed by things I did like. I liked it, and I’ll probably be getting to fever soon.
