6 Month Blogiversary Giveaway!

May 4, 2012 Blogiversary, Giveaways 16

Technically my six month blogiversary passed by the weekend of Read-a-Thon but I’m celebrating it now!  One of my most anticipated books this spring was Social Suicide by Gemma Halliday.  I read Deadly Cool a couple of months ago and absolutely fell in love with the characters and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the next book in the series.  Because of my love for these books I will be giving away one copy of either Social Suicide OR Deadly Cool.

Gemma Halliday Deadly Cool

Hartley Grace Featherstone is having a very bad day. First she finds out that her boyfriend is cheating on her with the president of the Herbert Hoover High School Chastity Club. Then he’s pegged as the #1 suspect in a murder. And if that weren’t enough, now he’s depending on Hartley to clear his name. Seriously? Not cool.

But as much as Hartley wouldn’t mind seeing him squirm, she knows he’s innocent, and she’s the only one who can help him. Along with her best friend, Sam, and the school’s resident Bad Boy, Chase, Hartley starts investigating on her own. But as the dead bodies begin to pile up, the mystery deepens, the suspects multiply, and Hartley begins to fear that she may be the killer’s next victim.

Gemma Halliday Social Suicide

Twittercide [twit-er-sahyd]: the killing of one human being by another while the victim is in the act of tweeting.

Call me crazy, but I figured writing for the Herbert Hoover High Homepage would be a pretty sweet gig. Pad the resume for college applications, get a first look at the gossip column, spend some time ogling the paper’s brooding bad-boy editor, Chase Erikson. But on my first big story, things went… a little south. What should have been a normal interview with Sydney Sanders turned into me discovering the Homecoming Queen-hopeful dead in her pool. Electrocuted while Tweeting. Now, in addition to developing a reputation as HHH’s resident body finder, I’m stuck trying to prove that Sydney’s death wasn’t suicide.

I’m starting to long for the days when my biggest worry was whether the cafeteria was serving pizza sticks or Tuesday Tacos…

Happy Blogiversary! I rarely enter giveaways because I swear I NEVER win but, recently, I’ve won two things so maybe my luck it still holding. I REALLY hope so as I want to read Deadly Cool sooooooo bad!

dystopian is not recognized as a word on my computer and it drives me nuts! Neither is blogiversary. :(

  2. TayteH

Let’s see. Besides dystopian, my name, since you spell it Tate not Tayte, um…..blogoversay, twitter, facebook, goodreads, linky, angelina, titania, tiana, storykeeper. That’s just a few of them.

There are so many words that get the red squiggle because I’m an exercise physiology student. So, I get squiggles under gastronemius, the big muscle in your lower leg, and serratus anterior, muscle along your rib cage. :D

    Happy blogoversary!!!

Great giveaway! I’ve been wanting to read Deadly Cool for a while now, and I know you really like these books so I definitely need to read them!

Creeped is definitely a word I get the little red squiggly line under all the time! Goodreads is another one… And pretty much any strange name.

    Thanks again for the giveaway!

what a fun question! most recently, my computer refused to accept “morphic” – which apparently is not a real word (it’s a software, so I’m told), but doesn’t it sound like it should be?! I swear I’ve seen it elsewhere, too.

    Happy blogiversary!

    Happy Blogiversary!

  7. Audris

Just yesterday I was writing a review and went to write creeped and got the squiggly. Fun question!

I also loved Deadly Cool, can’t wait to read Social Suicide :) thanks for the giveaway.

I actually got one the other day and just knew I was right, and turns out it wasn’t a word. I always thought mischievious was a word, but no, it’s just mischievous. I learned something new : )

  9. Bittner

I could have sworn that “blog” wasn’t recognized because I know I remember laughing about that with my friend Shavonne at work. But just now when I typed it I didn’t get a squiggly line so crap! Now I have to think of a word…

Can I use “Shavonne” I mean it got a squiggly line but it is a name, so does that count.

Surely I can think of something better…

    I’ll get back to you.

  10. Bittner

Oh, can facebook count? If you use it as the title as in “I was just on Facebook” it does not get a squiggle but if you say “I’ll facebook you” it does!

OMG Dystopian… definitely! I was writing a review and a little red squiggly line popped up… Unbelievable! :( Thanks for the great giveaway!

I haven’t read this one yet… my TBR list is getting out of control at this point! :)

oops… I forgot to add my spell check-stumping word. I make up words all the time and I’m sure somewhere there’s a little spell check gnome who curses me every time I go to post, or tweet, or whatever.

      Favorites… Interwebs, fancified

Well depending on what version of WOrd i use, it tells me that one of my friend’s last name is selled wrong which is weird because its a pretty common last name
