Bout of Books 4.0: Third Times a Charm

May 14, 2012 Bout of Books, Readathon 30

I wasn’t going to do it.  The last two read-a-thons did not go well for me, but I was incredibly productive today.  Like really, really productive.  I not only completed my entire to do list, but I did things that weren’t even on my list!  This means I will have much more free time this week, so maybe I can do this!  Plus with BEA coming up I’ll be losing a whole week of reading so I want to get ahead.

Bout of Books Read-a-Thon

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is hosted at Bout of Books.  You can read more about it here and here.  I’m hoping that the third times a charm, so I am not setting lofty goals for this read-a-thon, because I’d like to feel accomplished.  I’m using the Bout of Books template because she laid everything out super easy.

My Goals

  • Finish 1 book, Read 3 other books
  • Write and schedule posts for the week before BEA and the week of BEA.
  • Hop over to other blogs and meet some new bloggers

Books To Read

  • Finish: The Fault in our Stars done!
  • Read: Hourglass
  • Read: The Heist Society done!
  • Read: Glimmer done!

I’m not gonna lie… I’m pretty darn pleased with myself.  I may not have finished all the books I planned on, but I got a ton of reading done and I feel a lot less pressure to have to read fast and get reviews written for while I’m at BEA.  It was a fail on the blogging front though, but I will be rectifying that this week!

I could use a week long read -a-thon about now. Don’t think I can this week but I wish I could. Good luck.

FYI – this is a great read-a-thon for people who don’t have a lot of time to commit. No pressure and a lot of fun. The only person you are competing with is yourself, plus you get to meet a lot of really cool people. ;)

I really, really need to put The Fault of Our Stars on my TBR list along with Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. I’ve noticed several people with both of them on their list. Have fun and good luck!

I love Heist Society. I still haven’t read The Fault in Our Stars (and I had pre-ordered it because I wanted a signed copy) I hear its great though so I hope you enjoy it!

  4. Andrea @ The Overstuffed Bookcase

I really wish I could participate in this but my week is just going to be too hectic. But YOU CAN DO IT!!! And Heist Society will be a great book for this – it should be a pretty quick read! Good luck and have fun!

This is a great read-a-thon and there is no pressure and we are doing this for ourselves to enjoy it :) Good luck, this is the 1st one for me so i’m a lil anxious that i may not even get through 1 book.

You can totally do it! I’m still contemplating joining, but… I have so much baby stuff to do for my sister this week that I’m not sure it’s the best time.

I’ve neglected my Google Reader for several days now, so basically I’m just visiting a few of my blogger bff’s sites before I wipe and start fresh. It’s too distracting if I feel pressure to catch up on blogs during a readathon. I did do the challenge today, which was fun and super easy. Now to get to reading! So many books to read, so very little time!

I’m finding May to be such a challenging blogging month — tons of new releases, end of the school year. So I really need the push~
