Sundays in Bed With… The Chaperone

May 27, 2012 In Bed With... 7

Kate at Midnight Book Girl has started a new feature on Sunday mornings to share with everyone what you’re reading in bed Sunday morning before getting to the days activities.

Laura Moriaty The ChaperoneToday I’m hoping to find a spare minute or two to read The Chaperone by Laura Moriarty.  My friend Kate received a copy for review, loved it, and has graciously loaned me her copy.  I’ll be meeting her at BEA and I would love to be able to finish the book before going but it’s pretty big and I have lots of work stuff to accomplish, but I should be able to get at least half way through.

* BEA is only one week a way!!!!!  I am so excited, but I am in my one-week-before-vacation-freak-out mode.  There is so much to do and so little time!  Things always get crazy before vacations because I have to do the work I would have be doing during that time early.  I apologize in advance but commenting for the next two weeks will be minimal, if at all.  I promise to get out there to make up for it when I get back!

* I had to buy a new cover/case for my ereader this week and I was really disappointed that they no longer make the one that I had.  So after much contemplation I picked out a new one, and it has a stand, and I freakin love it!  I no longer have to hunch over the table when I’m trying to read while I eat breakfast.

* I made a spur of the moment decision to quit drinking soda.  (I didn’t have any in the house and I just cannot spend $1.69 on a bottle of soda, it’s a rip off!)  We’ll see if it sticks this time.

* There is something wrong with my desk chair and I don’t know how to fix it.  I’ve tried everything.  I’ll be sitting at my desk working and all of a sudden the chair will just sink down to the lowest height.  Sometimes bit by bit, sometimes all at once.  It’s really annoying and I can’t figure why it’s doing this.  I may be buying a new chair soon.

Good morning Kimberly. OMG this time next week I will be getting ready to board the train. So excited to meet you and Kate and Kellie.

I have the same problem with my chair and its weird cause it won’t happen all the time.

I wish I was in bed with a book this morning especially after getting home at 1am this morning (we were at a lovely wedding) and now we are on our way to church. Agh I want my bed.

    Enjoy the book :)

Thanks for participating, Kim! That really sucks about the chair… too bad they aren’t giving any chairs away at BEA!

I know The Chaperone is a big book, and you have lots to do, but it’s a fairly quick read so you never know! I can’t wait to discuss it with you! Oh, and I promise to read Hana before our trip too!

We really need to figure out the car sitch. If you want, just bring it over here and we can have Aaron drive us to the bus station? It’s going to be pretty early in the morning and I don’t want to be late!

I’m so excited for your trip! You guys are going to have the best time!

Good luck on giving up soda! That is really hard! I haven’t given it up completely yet but I have cut back A LOT! Especially in the summer, it is just too hot here to drink anything other than water. But you are right about the cost being a rip off! So true!

    Have a great weekend!

DUUDE… I can’t wait for BEA. I’m in freak out mode. I went shopping today. And have kind of made a mental list of all the things I need to do… but… it’s so long, I freaked out and put on Veronica Mars. LOL. I’ll be super productive about everything tomorrow.

Yay! BEA! I’m so excited for you guys!

And I need to get a cover/case for my Kindle Fire. I’ll be sure to try to get one with a stand – that sounds great!

And I know it’s not funny, but I’m just imagining you in your desk chair, working away, and then, PLOP! down to the ground. And I know I don’t really know what you look like all that well since I haven’t met you, so it’s hard to really imagine YOU, but it’s still a funny image. Sorry. I do really hope you get it fixed soon! ;)
