First I just want to apologize for anything misspellings or general weirdness in this post. I’m writing from my phone and I’m not very good at it.
I am having an excellent time! I have met so many awesome other bloggers, seen a bit of the city and i’ve gotten a ton of books.
The bloggers conference on Monday was really good. Two of the main speakers were Jennifer Wiener and Jenny Lawson and they were both fabulous.
The first day of BEA was crazy. It was a complete overload of books and people, and they aren’t kidding when they say that people will just shove books at you!
The children’s breakfast this morning was amazing! Chris Colfer and John Green were so funny and Lois Lowery totally made me cry. If you have time you should totally check it out on the BEA website. It was seriously amazing.
Kate and I sat/stood in line for 2.5 hours for the Dark Days signings (Roth, Norris, Griffin and Pike) and it was so worth it, especially because I was #4! We weren’t planning on being there quite so early but we were already standing there when someone started the line so we just kind of stayed there.
New York is not exactly what I was expecting. The subway was so much more confusing than DC. You have to be pushy to get places (the guy manning the BEA entrance told me “you are in NY, you gotta be a New Yorker and push you’re way out” which is very true). The hotel is really nice, but the rooms are really tiny, and we are on the 27th floor. It’s not much but here is the view from the hotel. Kate and I lucked out with our roommates, Cindy and Kellie, they are awesome.
Well, that’s all the typing my thumbs can take for now, I’ll have more BEA stuff up next week!
