Sometimes you just don’t have much to say…

I’ve read a lot of Rachel Gibson’s books and enjoyed them but this one fell flat for me.  I had a very hard time connecting with both the main characters, Sadie and Vince.  I can’t really pin point why but I just didn’t seem to care what happened to them.  I did enjoy the town and the other quirky characters but there weren’t enough of them in the story to save it for me.

Deadlocked was a little better than the previous too, but not by much. It definitely needed more Eric and less other stuff. Between the vampires, faeries, werewolves, elves, etc, there is just so much going on and I have a hard time keeping some stuff strait.

Sookie is less annoying in Deadlocked than I’ve found her to be in some of the previous books, which is a plus, but Bill keeps popping up, which is a minus.  I’m not a big fan of Bill.

I’m glad that the next Sookie Stackhouse book will be the last one. I feel like this series jumped the shark a couple books ago and if this was still going to be an ongoing series I’m not sure I would continue.  I

I’m sorry you didn’t love these! I’ve only read the first Sookie Stackhouse novel, but I feel like I need to catch up with that series… one day.

Loving your mini reviews though I have to disagree with the lack of Eric in Deadlocked – one of the reasons I enjoy this more than the last few books was because of his lack. Its Bubbah I would love to have seen more of as I think he’s a wonderful character.

The other day I was talking to Kate and your name came up (in reference to water zumba and fire drills) and I was thinking to myself, “man I miss kim!” And then I realized it was because I haven’t been on my blog in three weeks! So, sorry for the absence friend!
I couldn’t finish the Stackhouse books after the fourth one. I loved the fourth one and I just kind of figured that it could only go down hill from there.

I like the Sookie Stackhouse books, and much better than I like True Blood (but I do like True Blood), but yeah, they’ve been lagging lately. I liked the one with the fairy kidnapping, but after that they’re just like, meh. But I haven’t read this last one yet. And I’m with you–I’m glad the next one is going to be the last. Hopefully it’ll be really good with lots of craziness going on!

I really need to borrow Deadlocked from you! And I probably need to spend all day today catching up on reviews so that I don’t have to write any on vacation. I have a feeling some past reads are going to rate a mini-review!
