Sometimes you just don’t have much to say…
I’ve read a lot of Rachel Gibson’s books and enjoyed them but this one fell flat for me. I had a very hard time connecting with both the main characters, Sadie and Vince. I can’t really pin point why but I just didn’t seem to care what happened to them. I did enjoy the town and the other quirky characters but there weren’t enough of them in the story to save it for me.
Deadlocked was a little better than the previous too, but not by much. It definitely needed more Eric and less other stuff. Between the vampires, faeries, werewolves, elves, etc, there is just so much going on and I have a hard time keeping some stuff strait.
Sookie is less annoying in Deadlocked than I’ve found her to be in some of the previous books, which is a plus, but Bill keeps popping up, which is a minus. I’m not a big fan of Bill.
I’m glad that the next Sookie Stackhouse book will be the last one. I feel like this series jumped the shark a couple books ago and if this was still going to be an ongoing series I’m not sure I would continue. I
