TGIF: Throwback & Blog Hop: Hyped Book

July 20, 2012 Blog Hop, Meme, TGIF 24

TGIFTGIF is a weekly meme to re-cap the week’s posts & to propose a question for our followers. It is run by Ginger at GReads.

Throwback TGIF: Pick a previous question you posted on your blog in the past & revisit your answer. Has it changed since then?

I decided to revisit Love Stories: What are some of your favorite fictional love stories?

My original answer was:

My favorite classic romance is Romeo and Juliet. Ever since 9th grade English I have been in love with them.

My new favorite romance is Four and Tris (Divergent, Veronica Roth). I couldn’t help but fall in love with them.

My old school favorite romance from back in the day is Jane and Cal (Nobody’s Baby But Mine, Susan Elizabeth Phillips). Their romance was so sweet and funny.

Of course my classic romance and old school romance are still the same, but I just finished Pushing the Limits, and Echo and Noah push Four and Tris out of the new favorite romance category.  Echo and Noah are just… sigh.

What’s the ONE super-hyped book you’ll NEVER read?

Ok a few days ago I would have said Cinder by Marissa Meyer.  Even though it’s gotten rave reviews I just have no interest in reading it, but I made a deal with Andrea at The Overstuffed Bookcase to read it if she reads Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry, so now I’ll be reading it.

Since I can’t pick Cinder I’ll have to go with Shatter Me.

I didn’t love Cinder as much as Andrea did, but I did really really like it and I do think you should read it. Shatter Me on the other hand, I’m with you, no desire to read that one at all!

I wish someone had stopped me from listening to the audio of Shatter Me! No one warned me how ear-splitting, over wrought and high school drama class it was going to be! Maybe it’s better in print… but I just don’t give a damn.

I don’t know if there’s any really popular book I won’t read, I can’t think of one in particular but they rarely live up to the hype even when I totally want to love them.

Hi -I chose Fifty shades but I could throw the Hunger Games in also -no desire to read it at all.
Like the blog by the way, and I’m following.

Ooh I can’t wait to read Divergent! And Pushing the Limits!
I started to read Shatter Me, but I really just was not a fan. The writing style was distracting to me, but so many people seem to love it!

I picked the same throwback question! And, I added Noah and Echo too!! Have a great weekend.

I liked Cinder! Love Susan Elizabeth Phillips. So funny that you and Andrea made a book reading deal. That’s a great idea!
i guess the super-hyped book I’ll probably never read is 50 Shades of Gray. Just not all that interested… But I guess never say never, right??

Pushing the Limit was a gorgeous story! I loved the characters as individuals. They still wouldn’t beat out Four and Tris for me in the romance department though ;)
