Who is your go-to author when you are in a reading rut?
I have two different authors that I will go back to if I’m in a funk. JK Rowling and Sophie Kinsella. I never, ever get tired of Harry Potter and Sophie Kinsella’s books are always good for a laugh.
TGIF is a weekly meme to re-cap the week’s posts & to propose a question for our followers. It is run by Ginger at GReads.
Unexpected Books: Which books did you have reservations about reading, but ended up loving once you did?

I am still figuring out my go to author or genre when in a reading funk, immediately my answer would be Andrea Kane or a Verse Novel.
I read Hunger Games because I wanted to try Dystopian, I wasn’t a fan but did understand the hype.
I’ve never read a verse novel, but I’ve heard good things about them :)
I have a few favorite authors I go to when I am in a rut to get myself jump-started again. They usually have a book I haven’t read yet.
I’m never that lucky, but I like rereading my old favorites.
I loved The Hunger Games too – the entire series.
Me too! My plan backfired, but in a good way.
I’m kind of glad that the Hunger Games backfired, and you liked it after all! I got my fiance to read it too, and he wasn’t too sure about it at first but he loved it as well.
Yeah I really thought I’d have a problem with kids killing kids but I guess not. ;)
Your Hunger Games story is HILARIOUS. Also, Harry Potter is always awesome, as is laughing. It’s why Georgia made my list. <3 her.
Yeah, I was really glad that I didn’t actually tell Kate before I read it that that’s why I was reading it. ;)
Seeing a lot of Hunger Games actually! That one just didn’t appeal to me and I have way too much to read to try and give it a try! I have a stack of books that I actually own in that kind of category!
Here’s my Friday Hops
Have a GREAT weekend!

HG isn’t for everyone, but it was really good.
I picked JK Rowling at my go-to author as well :)
My Post.
She’s certainly making it around today!
LOL – HG seems to get that reaction a lot. I didn’t have any misgivings about reading the series — I knew I would love it and I did.
Happy Hopping!
Yeah on the surface HG doesn’t sound like something anyone would like, but it was oh so good!
I have two Sophia Kinsella books on my shelf that I haven’t read….I need to get to them.

Sophie Kinsella is so funny! You won’t regret it!
LOL! That’s funny that you were so sure you wouldn’t like THG. I do that all the time.
It’s not the first time I’ve done that and probably won’t be the last lol. But it’s ok when I’m wrong.
I loved Hunger Games, too! I’m glad I dropped by from BBH. I’m your newest follower.
Cheers,

Thanks for stopping by!
I can’t believe you doubted me! Well, I hope you learned your lesson!
I did. But in my defense this was before I really, really knew you, before I started my blog and everything. Before I knew you were a total Pike fan. So I have a good excuse for doubting you. ;)
Very nice blog. I am following you now. Please drop by to Carole’s Chatter and check it out. You might like to drop by and check out my Books You loved series. The new edition for August is now live. If you like my blog it would be great if you followed me back. Have a good week.
LOL! Total backfire! ;) I haven’t read any Sophie Kinsella but Harry Potter is definitely the series I can read over and over again! I need to read them again, actually, and review them on my blog… Hmm, probably next year. ;)
I am listening to them right now and I was going to review them but with listening to them while I’m working I just get so wrapped up in it so I decided to just forget it. Next year I think I might try and read them.
