Bout of Books 5.0 Updates

August 13, 2012 Bout of Books 30

Bout of Books Read-a-Thon

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 13th and runs through Sunday, August 19th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 5.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. -From the Bout of Books 5.0 team

This is where I will be posting my updates throughout the week, including any challenges that I may participate in.  Template provided by Bout of Books.

Challenges

Monday – What happens to your books after you have read them?  (Hosted by Reading in Texas and The Space Between).

After I’ve finished reading (and reviewing) a book it gets put on my finished reading shelf.  It’s a nice feeling to be able to put it on that shelf.  Occasionally I will loan books (but usually just to certain, trusted, people).  And I rarely give books away.  I know that’s very selfish of me, but that’s just the way I am.  I gave away a ton of books several years ago and I regret doing it, so I don’t usually feel inclined to give them away now.

Also, let’s go out for you b-day. I’m at my sister’s all week and I have a present for you, but it is in my possession, so you have to see me to get it.

  2. BookSmartie

Haha, same thing here! I can’t give a book away, either – I don’t even like when people borrow my books! I know it’s selfish and that I could at least give away the ones I don’t like, but I can’t help it :)

Heather Wells is so funny. It’s one of my fav series from Meg Cabot!

    Good luck&have fun! :)

  4. Patricia's Particularity

Wow girl you are moving through these books quickly! I wish I had more time to do that. I have heard the Maze Runner is good and have it on my TBR so I’m looking forward to reading your thoughts.

You are doing so fabulous right now!! Especially on the commenting front- I am currently failing at that right now. :P Anyways, I really enjoyed The Maze Runner, so I hope it ends up being less confusing for you! Good luck with the rest of the readathon. =)

Lol The Maze Runner is really confusing when you read it. You just have to go with the flow and think that later on in the series all questions will hopefully be answered.

I had the exact same thing as you did on Wednesday, I didn’t accomplish anything that day due to being really busy.

Happy reading, good luck on your goals!

  8. Andrea @ The Overstuffed Bookcase

You did a great job! I read 1, maybe 2 books a week and you read 6! Sorry I wasn’t around to cheer you on during the readathon. Jeez, Andrea. Way to be a friend. ;) Anyway, great job! I think you should be very proud!
