And so it begins! Head on over to There’s a Book to get more details about the topics they are covering.
Bloggiesta is co-hosted by Danielle at There’s a Book and Suey from It’s All About Books. Originally created nearly four years ago by Natasha of Maw Books, we want to make sure to give her a huge thank you for starting such a fantastic event! An event that bloggers everywhere look forward to twice a year.
My To-Do List
-
Clean up my reader and organize in my reader the new blogs that I have added recentlyComplete! -
Cross post my reviews to goodreadsComplete! Y’all this was the WORST TASK. Seriously, I really need to be more diligent about this because it took me 4 hours!!! - Work on some Random Thoughts posts
-
Fix my reviews by author pageComplete! - Add the gazillion books that I haven’t yet added to goodreads that I’ve already read. I know this will be very unfun, but I’d really like to get it done. Partially complete. If Goodreads would just get rid of those stupid pop ups this would be so much easier.
-
Clean up my email address! Between work, the blog and personal I have 12 different emails. Twelve!!!! No one needs that many emails. So, I plan on cleaning them up (i.e. merge) so I should be able cut that down to 5.Complete! This turned out to be much easier than I thought as 5 of these addresses were old and all I had to do was close them. :) - Challenges I plan on checking out
-
How to use Pocketover at The Book Vixen – seriously I know I’m going to love this one!Complete! This is my new favorite thing too! So much easier than trying to click through twitter on my phone! -
Grade my blogover at Smash Attack Reads – should I be nervous?Complete! Better results than I thought, but made a list of things to work on. -
Six Techniques to revitalize old contentover at the Blue Stocking Society.Complete! I didn’t use any of the tasks, but saved them to come back to at a later time. -
Changing your RSS feedover at Truth, Beauty, Freedom and Books.Complete! I pretty much decided that I’m just going to take the wait and see approach. -
Review policyover at Girl Who Reads – I just need to update a few things. Complete! - And hopefully a whole lot more!
-
- Visit lots of blogs! Partially Complete. I visited some but not lots.
- Stuff I added to the list after I started
-
Make new follow buttons. Complete! I saw Kate’s new buttons and I really liked them, so I redid mine, even though I clearly should have been working on my own list. -
Set up a spreadsheet for all the books I’ve read and their linksComplete! I don’t know why I didn’t think of this before because spreadsheets are totally my thing, but all I have in mine is a list of books so I’m going to set up a spreadsheet with all the info. I’m way too excited for this. - Add to my review template a similar reviews section.
I’m even more excited for Bloggiesta because tonight (Friday) two other bloggers, Kate from Midnight Book Girl and Katie from KT’s Reading Rainbow, will be coming to my house so we can do blog stuff together.
I hope you’ll join in on the fun!

DID YOU REPLACE ME WITH A MORE LOCAL BLOGGER?
Also… you have 12 e-mails… WHAT?
No! YOU ARE NOT REPLACEABLE! Katie just recently started a blog and she’s awesome and you’ll meet her soon.
Look, it just got a little out of control, ok? I’m fixing it though. I’ve settled on 5.
What fun! You have a great list…I’m already getting ideas about stuff to add to mine. Enjoy!
Here’s MY BLOGGIESTA STARTING LINE POST
The more lists I see the more I add too!
I added all my books to Goodreads one Bloggiesta. It was a lot of work but I was so happy when I finished.
I’ve wanted to do this for a long time, so I’m putting my foot down and doing it this weekend. The updated phone app should help at least with my hard copy books so I don’t think it’ll be too bad.
12 email address!! WOW I thought I was crazy with the the five I have. It’s good that you’ve been able to consolidate them down. :) I’ve got a few reviews that I need to update on Amazon/B&N/Goodreads so I’ll be taking care of that on Sunday.
My Bloggiesta Starting Post
Updating reviews is probably the most unfun thing on my list, but, it has to be done! Good luck with yours!
I’d love it if bloggers were coming to my place! Have fun with all your goals.
It was fun, I’m hoping to be super productive today!
Nice list! I need to update my reviews on Goodreads and Amazon, and am not looking forward to it as I’m so far behind. And very cool that you can get together with other bloggers! Hope you have a fun and productive weekend!
Getting together was a lot of fun, I hope we get to do it again!
Damn, you rocked those challenges! And you’re awesome for helping Katie out so much and you should just know that. ;) Good luck getting to the rest of your goals this weekend!
Why thank you, but I don’t mind helping Katie at all cause she’s awesome!
Oh man, you burned through those challenges! Amazing. New follower! Also, have fun with your fellow bloggers, that should be a good time. :D
Yeah, they were so helpful!
Great job with going from 12 to 5 emails! I see a lot crossed things already, good!
My bloggiesta.
Thankfully the email problem didn’t turn out to be that hard. But I feel better after closing the old accounts.
Wow it looks like you’re already off to a great start with your list! Love your header design by the way, very pretty :)
Thank you, Lori is amazing!
Hehe, I love that you added “make new buttons” to your list because you saw how cool somebody else’s looked. I am SO guilty of doing this! It’s why my own list is so unattended. I get distracted by shiny objects ;)
Looks like you’re still getting alot accomplished, though. Good luck!
Yeah I do that all the time too! It’s just too tempting ;)
Yay for getting all those challenges done! I haven’t really had a chance to do any yet, but I have checked them out. Great list and good luck getting more of it done!
Thanks, I’m hoping to be productive today!
You’ve completed so many of your goals! I wish I was as organised, haha! Well done for getting those challenges done, I’ve done one, but I have a bunch more that I want to get to.
I’ve definitely made it more of a priority this time around so being organized was key ;)
Eeek on 12 email addresses! Happy you’ve managed to curb those. I have two, but several lots of forwarding addresses to each of those. Probably not much better, but at least they all forward to the same place? *makes excuses*
Looks likve you’ve made great progress this weekend! Good luck finishing the rest. :)
I had some that forward to others too but when I was closing the old ones I got rid of those as well. And there is nothing wrong with your excuses ;)
You are doing such a good job and making tons of progress! Keep it up! I’ve never participated in this exercise but maybe next year I’ll give it a shot!
Thanks! It’s a lot of fun! I will make sure to bring it to your attention next time, and I hope you read that to mean “force you to participate” ;)
There is so much I need to do but so little time to do it!! Keep up the great work!
Thanks! I had a lot of fun!
