24 Hour Readathon!

October 9, 2012 Readathon 12

What is the 24 Hour Read-a-thon?
It’s sort of a reading challenge, only everyone participates at the same time. For 24 hours, we read books, post in our blogs about our reading, and visit other readers’ blogs. We also participate in mini-challenges throughout the day and win prizes.

What is the date of the next Read-a-thon?
October 13, 2012, starting at 8am EST.
You can expect a Read-a-thon every April and October.

Where can I sign up?
You can sign up to be a Reader in the read-a-thon here

I am so excited that the readathon is this weekend! I am really hoping to buckle down and read 4 books (and yes, I know that I said the same thing the last time too) I am 2 books behind in my Goodreads challenge and that’s likely to be 3 before the week is out. This makes me sad, but I’m trying not to worry about it too much because I knew that October was going to be crazy busy, and it looks like November is pretty free, so it should all even out in the end.

I’m also excited because I’ll be sharing the readathon fun with my fellow bloggers Kate (Midnight Book Girl), Steph (The Fake Steph Dot Com) and new blogger Katie (KT’s Reading Rainbow). Last time we had tons of fun so it should be tons of fun again.

If I can get the first four books read I will be one happy camper! I have some stuff going on on Sunday so I will probably not be staying up the full 24 hours but I plan on staying up until at least 2am, maybe 4am. I’ll have to see how I feel.

Let me know if you’ll be participating, I’ll be sure to stop by and cheer you on!

Craziness! I can’t believe it’s read-a-thon time already! I wish I could participate but I have to work. :( Uh, shouldn’t Odd Thomas be on your first list? ;) I’m going to set Kate after you.

Oh, you’ve got some great ones here! I hope you finish your goals and more. : )

Getting together for a readathon sounds like a blast but I’d be more likely to do more chitchatting than reading! Hopefully, I’ll get to participate in this one, even if I am all by lonesome. ; )

Your stack looks great! I have a few books by Gaiman in my read-a-thon pile. Happy reading and good luck on your goals.

Be prepared for me to strongly encourage you to read Sloppy Firsts. Just a heads up. That book changed my soul.
