Day 9: Why do you blog about books?

I never considered myself one of those people. You know, the ones that sit in front of the computer all day and do internet things like blog.  I never really thought about what they were blogging about, I just knew “that wasn’t me.”  Then I met Kate at book club and she introduced me to this thing called a book blog and I was like “Whoa… look at all those people that love books as much as I do!”

I always thought I was alone in the world of books. That I was the strange one for owning a huge shelf full of books. Finding out that I was not alone was THE BEST THING EVER.

I blog about books because I love books and I love the community. I love talking about books with other people who get it, people who will totally talk about a character like they are real (because they are) or get legitimately stressed out over something happening in a book or cry over a book.

I blog about books because the hobby that I love is no longer a solitary activity.

I blog about books because books are a huge part of my life and I love being able to share that love with other people who appreciate it.

Why do you blog about books?

I blog about books because my husband got sick of listening to me lol

I don’t have any friends that read the same books as I do either. They read “serious literature” and frown upon my YA and paranormal.

I blog about books for a lot of the same reasons you do. I don’t have as interesting of a story for how I came upon book blogs, but I always wanted to be involved in the community. I’d started to follow authors, and then I realized that I really just wanted to share my love of books with others, with the people who were writing the books and who were commenting on those posts and who were writing Waiting on Wednesday posts and the like. And I’ve never been more thankful that I started it :). (PS – book club sounds like fun! I wish there was one of those near me!)
