Top Ten Tuesday: Books That Needed Sequels

August 6, 2013 Top Ten Tuesday 24

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by the awesome people at The Broke and Bookish, who love lists as much as I do!

Top Ten Books I wish would have had sequels

This was hard y’all. I read a lot of series!

Kasie West Distance Between us Ernest Cline Ready Player One Jennifer E Smith Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight

1. The Distance Between Us by Kasie West

I just finished this and I could immerse myself in Xander and Cayman for a long time!

2. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

One of my favorite books ever. Not really sure what Cline would do for a sequel, but I would read it!

3. The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E Smith

I really want to know if their relationship could pan out in the long term.

Gillian Flynn Gone Girl VC Andrews My Sweet Audrina Jennifer Castle You Look Different In Real Life

4. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

Because you know it would be messed up.

5. My Sweet Audrina by VC Andrews

One of the few books of hers that aren’t part of a series. This totally could have been a series.

6. You Look Different In Real Life by Jennifer Castle

This totally could have been a series with each person from the moive being featured.

Just six for today!

You have a good point with Ready Player One. I don’t need a sequel because I will never get tired of rereading it!

Ready Player One could make for an interesting sequel. I would love to see more of the dichotomy between the real world and the virtual world… it’s like a dystopia and a utopia all in one book.

Yeah I loved the play between the virtual world and real world and the good and bad of both. I could be in that world forever!

Oooh, I actually love the idea of a Statistical sequel, where you could see them dealing with a real relationship post instalove and learning about what love really is. That could be awesome.

Also, READY PLAYER TWO. This time he must test his knowledge of 90s trivia! BECAUSE REASONS.

Agreed about Statistical. I feel like they would be an awesome couple to explore in the future.

OMG Your idea for READY PLAYER TWO sounds freaking AMAZING. I loved everything about Ready Player One and I love the 90’s so that is PERFECT!

Definitely Gone Girl! I would love to know how their marriage pans out! I’d also like to see his sister and maybe that cop get together. :)

I’m Seeing TSPOLAFS on everyone’s list. I totally agree we need more on their story.

“Just six” is still a lot. I am marveling at the people who could come up with ten. If I read stand-alones, it’s generally because I’m sick of series.

I’m with you on The Distance Between Us. You and I talked briefly about it; I would love to know more about their relationship, and also the issues that were brought up at the end. Also, I agree with the Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight. I wouldn’t have thought of it, but knowing what becomes of Hadley and Oliver would make, if not for an interesting novel, an interesting short story or novella.

Lol, I saw a bunch of people use series they want more of, which is fine, but I was determined not to go there!

Yeah there could have been so much more with Distance and Statistical. Not that I wasn’t happy with what I got, but I always want more ;)

I totally agree with Gone Girl! When my book club discussed it we thought it could be interesting to have the follow up be from the childs perspective because you know that kid would be messed up.
