Update!

September 7, 2013 Misc 13

It’s only been two weeks, but it feels like forever! I miss blogging and my blogging peeps but I am still adjusting to my new schedule, which consists mostly of work.

That pretty much sums up how I feel! My first week went great despite the fact that I A: Had to participate in the pep rally and B: Rushed doing the answer key on my first homework assignment and got 4 of the problems wrong. Thankfully I was awesome enough to use it as a teaching moment (“Students this is why we do not rush through our work and also why we double check!”) rather than it being a freak out moment. Still, it was rather embarrassing!

Anyway, I am still reading (sadly, not as much) and I plan on sneaking back into the blogosphere near the end of September. I also hope to have some kind of commenting routine down by then since my old one of doing it while I was at work no longer applies ;)

I’m so with you. I just finished up my second week of student teaching and I am freaking beat! I crashed last night for 12 hours. I’m hardly reading at all, which makes me sad, but I’m hoping once I adjust to this new crazy schedule it will get easier. I’m glad I’m not alone!

My gosh, I feel so selfish. I forgot that you’d started work and forgot to check in to see how things were going! Are you bonding with the kids? I have a couple of teacher friends who I haven’t gotten to talk to much lately because first weeks and all the work is so overwhelming. How is the schedule? When you say that it mostly consists of work, do you mean all the lesson planning and grading and assignments? Ooooh, pep rallies. I hated those in school and can’t imagine doing them as a teacher too. LOL TEACHER MOMENT. I love those. I don’t know if this helps, but not only does it teach that lesson but moments like those also made me feel more connected to my teachers :). So no embarrassment! My commenting routine is definitely not the same o.O, but I look forward to hearing from you and getting to see more of your posts again in September :).

Ugh, pep rallies. Hated those in high school. What is the point? Do they really ever pep ANYONE up? Maybe the team who is about to play? Maybe the cheerleaders and dance team? When I was on the dance team it was mostly just pretending to be peppy for stuff like that… Sorry you had to participate in that, but I’m glad you had a good first week!
