Top Ten Tuesday * Goals for 2014

January 7, 2014 Top Ten Tuesday 7

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by the awesome people at The Broke and Bookish, who love lists as much as I do!

Top Ten Goals/Resolutions for 2014

Bookish Goals

1. Get back in the swing of things

My new job has taken its toll in blogging but I’m hoping to pick things back up with the start of the new year!

2. Read all the book club books

This was actually a goal I had for last year, and I failed in February when The Casual Vacancy was picked. It went all downhill from there, but this year I’m going to do it!

3. Comment more

I’m planning on setting aside 2-3 hours on the weekend to just do commenting. I miss my fellow bloggers!

4. Buy Less books

I already have enough books that I haven’t read and I really shouldn’t be buying any more to add to the pile. Plus I need to save money to buy a heat pump!

5. Continue to read books that I think I won’t like

This was a goal from last year that I plan on continuing this year. I want to continue to branch out and read more different things.

6. Attend BEA again

Still not sure if I can get time off for the whole thing, but at the very least I plan to head up for that Saturday!

7. More author events

I went to quite a few in the beginning of 2013 and then things tapered off. Not sure if its because there weren’t a lot of events in the later part of the year or if I was just so busy but I want to do more. I already have two planned for January/February and hope to add a few more.

Non Bookish Goals

8. Take care of the yard

My yard is a hot mess and this summer I plan on making it less of a hot mess.

9. Run/walk 10k

I did a 10k a few years ago and want to do it again, I’m already signed up and everything!

I like the reading books you aren’t sure you will like. It’s so fun to discover a new favorite book when you thought you were totally out of your comfort zone!
    Happy reading!
