I’m Looking for Audiobook Recommendations!!!!

May 4, 2014 Misc 12

This June I am taking a road trip to see my brother and sister in law in Texas, which is about 22 hours away. I have some audiobooks that I’ve been saving for the trip, but since I never know what mood I’ll be in I am looking for more suggestions. I’m not looking for any specific genres (though no non fiction please) but I am looking for books that are preferably fast paced. Any suggestions would be awesome!

I love audio books and I’ve got a few recommendations. Have you tried JD Robb’s In Death series? They are futuristic murder mysteries and have a great side romance. I also enjoyed Y.S. Lee’s Agency series (Book one is A Spy in the House) and Anne Bishop’s Other series (Book one is Written in Red). Hope these help and have a great trip!

Thank you so much for all the recommendations! I love the variety, which is something I’m going to need on my trip! :)

Thanks! I’ve listened to the first two already, but haven’t yet gotten to the third!

The Daughter of Smoke and Bone books are awesome on audio! I also really enjoyed the Etiquette & Espionage books by Gail Carriger, the accents and characters make the books feel really fast. The If I Stay books are really good as well and only about 5 hours each but pretty emotional. And These Broken Stars was really good, I loved the dual narration! I hope you find something you love!

I think I have If I Stay, but I’ve avoided listening to it because I’m a bit of crier. I own These Broken Stars in print but (as will all the other books) I don’t know when I will have time for it so the listening to it is a great idea!

Oooh you know I love a good Audio book! Even if you have already read the Daughter of Smoke and Bones and the If I Stay books they are still worth listening to because the Daughter of Smoke and Bones is amazing and If I Stay has beautiful cello music that fits in with the story and for the Where She Went book it has great guitar riffs.

However, I can also say that I just finished the Scorpio Races book and the audio book was amazing! Even with all the hype that made me so hesitant to give it a shot, it really was perfect! I loved it.

I think I have If I Stay but I’m not up for crying in the car so I’ll probably wait on that one. However I did check out The Scorpio Races from the library!
