Looking Back at 2015 * Books and More!

December 31, 2015 Year in Review 4

It’s hard to believe that today is the last day of 2015! I feel like this year flew right by. This year was up and down for me. Sometimes I read a lot (i.e. in the summer) other times I barely read at all (September and October – I’m looking at you). I haven’t blogged a whole lot either, and while I wish I blogged more I also don’t regret not blogging. If blogging becomes a chore I will hate it, so instead I blog when I want. I’m hoping to get some mojo back for 2016.

Best of 2015

Ten books that I would consider favorites this year. I think the best of the best is Where the Stars Still Shine and Missing Dixie. So many feels!

Book Stats

I read 127 books this year and here is a quick overview.

I really like this new Goodreads feature so here is a snippet of my year in books. Pages are probably off though as I rarely select the audio version of the book when marking it on Goodreads.

I saw this cool graphic making feature over at Chrisbookarama and really wanted to try it.

This is the first year ever that I purchased less than 50% percent of the books I’ve read. It’s definitely because I’ve started using the library (digital only as I suck at returning books) a whole lot more than ever before.

Again, contemporary ruled my world and I don’t see that changing any time soon. I had a pretty good split between YA and Adult this year which makes me happy.

Looking Towards 2016

I’m not sure how much blogging I will do but my goal for reading is going to be the same – 125 books. I’m also on a mission to reduce my TBR – for real this time. Currently I sit at 152 books and I’d like to reduce that by 50% – either through reading them or weeding them.

I think 2016 is going to be a great year for me and can’t wait to see what it brings.

Happy New Year!

I love the Pictochart graphic! Will definitely have to use that in my own 2015 review post. I’m such a sucker for stats like this.

Looks like you had a fantastic reading year as well! Here’s hoping for another good one in 2016. :)

Good for you utilizing the library. I have soooo many books and I keep buying more! I feel like I’ll never have them all read. It’s so bad I actually feel guilty when I go to the library because my own books suffer! Sigh! Here’s to a great reading year in 2016 for both of us!
