Happy Sunday everyone!

Football is over and I did all my chores yesterday so other than meal prepping for the week I am free to read today! I’m so excited to curl up with a book on this chilly day. I’m hoping to finish two, possibly three books today.

I’m currently listening to Lady Renegades and I should finish this one while I’m meal prepping.

I plan on finishing My Not So Perfect Life before diving back in to Three Dark Crowns. So far MNSPL is funny and I can’t wait to see where it goes. Three Dark Crowns is the exact opposite of funny, but still good.

Sundays in Bed With… Book Club Holiday Party!

I will probably spend very little time reading today as its my book club holiday party. We do this awesome thing (courtesy of Steph) where we have a bunch of little prizes wrapped up in a saran wrap ball and then we unwrap it, but you only get as long as it takes someone to roll doubles. It’s awesome, though I’m sure I didn’t explain it in a manner that reflects it’s awesomeness.

Saturday I did the Tacky Light 6k for the second time. It’s amazing, though it was cold this year and that part sucked, but oh well!

If I have time to read I’ll either be reading The Cage by Meghan Shepard or Fire in You by J. Lynn.

I haven’t done one of these in a looooooong time. But it’s all good. I worked my butt off this week so that I could enjoy a lazy Sunday, full of books and football. And maybe a nap. We’ll see.

unexpected-everything nil

In the plans for today is to finish Nil. And make some progress on The Unexpected Everything. I’ve been working on the latter since the summer but I hit a reading slump and now that I’m mostly out of it (I hope) I really need to get back to this book. It’s just a little daunting being a 500+ page contemporary.

I’m not sure what else I’ll read, but I’ll see where the day takes me! Happy Sunday everyone!

Moon CalledToday I’ll mostly be working, but I hope to have time later to finish up Moon Called. It’s our July book club book (yes, our book club is awesome enough to pick non traditional book club books!). So far I’m enjoying it, though there seems to be a lot going on right at the moment!

I also might start an audio book today, but I’m having trouble deciding which one so I might not. We’ll see how I feel!

Black City

It started snowing on Friday around 10 am here in Virginia, turned to sleet Friday evening then back to snow. And then more snow and more snow. It was only supposed to snow off and on on Saturday but the low wasn’t where it was supposed to be which caused the storm to move slow, rotate more and hang out over central Virginia.

The TV meteorologist actually said “You could walk faster than this storm is moving.”

I haven’t seen this much snow since the time I got my Corolla stuck leaving my apartment back when I lived in Wisconsin (probably around 2003).

Since I can’t leave my house I’ll be curling up with Black City in the morning and watching football in the afternoon. I’ve had Black City for quite awhile. I picked it up at a Book signing in North Carolina not really sure if I would actually read it or not but the author was so funny that I caved into the pressure. Picked it up on a whim, so we’ll see how it goes.

Since VDOT already said the secondary roads won’t be touched until this evening I think it’s safe for me to say that there won’t be any school tomorrow, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we didn’t have school all week. It’s exam week which kind of makes me kind of sad because I can get so much work done during this time, but also happy because it means I’m not losing any instructional time.

Happy Sunday and Happy Reading. If your in the northeast/midatlantic stay safe and stay warm!

Every Last BreathI’m actually going to be working today, but while I work I will be listening to Every Last Breath by Jennifer L Armentrout. So far I am enjoying the book, but I really, really freaking hate this cover. And the other redesigned covers. It’s all good though because I am listening to the audio so I don’t have to look at it!

Sundays in Bed With… The Martian & Chasing Impossible

The Martian Chasing ImpossibleToday I’ll be spending time with The Martian and Chasing Impossible. I’m listening to The Martian for book club. I have mixed feelings so far. It’s very technical, which I don’t like, but I also feel a need to know what happens. I’m glad it was picked for book club though because I know I would have never have read this on my own.

If I get all my work done before bed (which is 50/50 right now because the procrastination train came in this morning) I’m going to dive into Chasing Impossible. I am very excited to read Abby and Logan’s story!

Today I am hoping to get some time to read Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. This book as the BEST COVER EVER. I’m borrowing this from a friend, but I really hope I like it so that I can justify buying a copy when it comes out in October.

I’ll also be working today so I’ll be listening to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Sundays in Bed With… Nowhere But Here

Sundays in Bed With… is hosted by Kate at Midnight Book Girl to share with everyone what you’re reading in bed!

Nowhere But HereToday I’m reading Nowhere But Here by Katie McGarry. I haven’t met a McGarry book I didn’t like, but this one makes me a bit nervous as I’m not sure how I feel about Motorcycle Gangs. I know they aren’t the bad kind (I also know that in real life most cyclists do not belong to gangs that are bad) but I’ve never ventured into this territory before so I’m not sure how I feel about that aspect. But we shall see. I’m 3 chapters in and so far it’s good!

I’m also listening to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I was in a bit of a reading slump and my friend Katie recommend jumping into a HP book to kick the slump and it worked! I’m really enjoying it two as this is only my third time through this book.

Sundays in Bed With… the End of Spring Break and Books!

SIB

Sundays in Bed With… is hosted by Kate at Midnight Book Girl to share with everyone what you’re reading in bed!

Today marks the final day of spring break and that makes me both sad and happy. Sad that my week off work is over, but happy as it means that the end of the school year is only a eight weeks away! I had a great spring break though, so no complaints. My dad came to visit and do a few home projects, though of course, more popped up! We also went to DC to see the Cherry Blossoms and Arlington Cemetery, both of which were fantastic in there different ways.

Paper or Plastic False MemoryToday I will be spending time with Paper or Plastic and False Memory. I should be able to finish Paper or Plastic. I had a hard time getting into it at first, but it’s really picking up and I think if I wouldn’t have had company this week I would have finished. Started False Memory, but I’m only 1 chapter in so I don’t really have any opinions of the book right now.
