January was a great month for me. We had some snow days, which are always appreciated and things are pulling together nicely at school. It also hasn’t been super cold. This month I’ve also worked to make myself healthier by exercising and eating healthier. It’s still a work in progress but I’m taking more steps forward than backward so I’m considering it a success so far.

Books Read

Best book by far this month was The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon. If you haven’t already read it, I suggest you do so!

Month In Review

August was not the month I thought it would be. I envisioned this great time where I would do all the reading. Instead I did other things, I’m still working my way through Sons of Anarchy (one season and two episodes left), I spent some time with awesome friends, and other stuff that I don’t remember. As I am writing this now it is the morning of heading back to work. School starts next Tuesday so this week is teacher work week. I am both excited and worried about this school year, I’ll share why in another post.Screen Shot 2015-08-31 at 6.15.34 AM

11145561_10207364054608940_2877230775812690415_nI spent part of July in Texas visiting family and I had a great time. I went to my first rodeo, which was awesome and spent time with my adorable niece. My brother is going to have his work cut out for him with this one. ;) After coming home I spent some time relaxing and some time with friends and family. I have just under 4 weeks of summer left.

June brought the end of school and the start of summer. So far summer has been filled with reading, hanging out with friends, quite a few home improvement projects (none worth showing pictures) and Netflix. A lot of Netflix. I finished watching The Blacklist (amazing) and started Friday Night Lights (why did I not watch this sooner).

May was not an awesome reading month for me, but as school was winding down that was to be expected. I’m pretty impressed though that I am still “on track” for my Goodreads goal.

April was a crazy month for me. It was spring break and my dad came for a visit, which was awesome. I bought a new heat pump, which was not awesome. I was able to read more than I anticipated I would be able to, which was awesome. My refrigerator started leaking, which was not awesome. That’s pretty much how my month went.

March was a slower month for me. While I did have some time to read I just wasn’t feeling it. Work has me bouncing all over the place which leaves me tired. I also discovered Netflix (yes, I know, way late to that party) and I’ve been watching The Blacklist, Psych and Friends whenever I can.

February In Review

Month In Review

I am not that said the February is coming to an end. Despite the 6 extra days off of work I enjoyed I am over winter. I am done with snow and cold and all the other things that come with winter. Bring on spring! I read 11 books this month, which honestly could have been more but I didn’t read too much on my snow days. I think this is mostly because I did not read a lot of awesome books this month. My average star rating was a 3.3.

January In Review

Month In Review

January was such a great month! I am pretty impressed with the amount of reading I did (19 books!), and the quality of the books (3.5 stars). Non reading wise I’ve also had a pretty good month. I went to the DC Blogger Christmas Party and had a blast. Kate and I stopped at Ikea on the way (oh I love thee Ikea) and I picked up a small dresser and cute shelf that I finally got put together on one of our “snow” days.
